The other day, I had a fun afternoon visiting with the craft group at Create On The Square in Cheltenham. They were learning to crochet, and I brought my lovely basket filled with yarn for them to choose from. Everyone was happy with their lovely Stylecraft Special DK. These are all £1.99 a ball.
My new phone is finally in operation, and I took the opportunity to make my own phone case. This photo is of a beret I made for Lexie a few weeks ago, because the colours are so lovely and I wanted something bright and cheerful, and that makes me smile every time I pick it up.
I got this done at Photbox because they had an offer on. I’m really pleased with it. It’s pretty good quality, but I think I would still prefer not to drop the phone.
Today is Lexie’s school disco, so I decided to start something easy that I can take with me while she dances. I wanted to make a ‘hug’ for my eldest, who is having a hard time at the moment. This is a granny hex cardigan. Allegedly, it works up quickly, and simply. We shall see. The yarn is Sirdar Hayfield Bonus aran in neon. £9.99 for a massive 400g ball. It’s 20% wool and 80% acrylic. It’s not as soft as Special, but it wouldn’t be – having wool in it! It works up nicely, and has good stitch definition. I’m not sure how drapey it will turn out to be, but it will certainly be cosy.
